ABOUT THE AUTHOR


I’m just me. A clumsy, introverted, bubble bath loving, chocoholic who would rather read a book than go shopping. And god forbid if you try and make me shoe shop! 

I’m one of four kids to school teacher parents. A wife to a football obsessed husband. Mother to a fur-baby who isn’t really aware of how big he is. Aunt to the most crazy/adorable little girl. And sister to two very determined sisters and one easy going brother.

I live in Canberra Australia and work too many hours a day at my day job. 

I’m a book whore who can easily (and happily) read a book from start to finish in a day and loves writing in my spare time.

I am so in love with this book and and I so hope that the rest of this series will be just as good! Taking Charge is the kind of story that ticks all the boxes for me, it has a good backstory for both the main characters, with lots of humour and some hot and sexy pulse racing moments that go down between Beau and Payton. Beau McIntyre has returned home to find that his family and it's farm is in total chaos. Payton has moved to a small town to open a bakery as baking is her passion, but in actual fact she has moved there to leave her past and her troubles behind and to start over. Payton's character is a total cluts and Beau seems to have such an effect on her that he makes her clumsiness even worse, but he finds it totally adorable about her and it draws them together to start something that becomes more that either were looking for. I loved Beau right from the start of this book, he is just so easy a character to like and the same goes for Payton, she I could relate to in so many ways that I could really feel sorry for her and the situation she finds herself in. The writing in this book is so flawless and the storytelling by Rebecca Barber is so totally captivating that once I started reading this book I was just pulled along on an invisible thread, it was absolutely spellbinding. This is my first book to have read by this author and i'm now absolutely hooked. I can't wait to read the next book in this series and wish I could give this story even more than 5 stars because it's just that good!
