Nearly ten years her junior, Griffin jettisons his playboy ways and sets his sights on Delilah. He aims to build a personal legacy with her by his side. But when his father's health problems - and the older man's scheming wife - call him home, he can no longer ignore the betrayal and pain of the past.

He finds refuge in the always willing and wise Delilah. But the more he leans on her, the more she wonders: when is it her turn?

Family drama knocks the couple off course into a tangle of secrets. Can Delilah and Griffin find a path forward together? Or will a disconcerting revelation divide them forever?

Pieces of Us: A Small Town No Strings Love Story (Angel Sands Book 6)Pieces of Us: A Small Town No Strings Love Story by Carrie Elks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can someone please show me the way to Angel Sands???
With a seaside town setting that sounds so idyllic, with it's beautiful pier and beaches to the eligible hot men just waiting there to find love, i'm so ready to pack up my stuff and move there!
Even though this is now book 6 of this series I approach each story as though it's the first because each one has given me the same exciting feeling of when you first start reading a brand new series, it always feels fresh and different and not just a continuation of a long running story, yes we still get to catch up with the other previous characters but it's easy to read each book as though it's a standalone with no connection to anything else.
Griff and Autumn's story is a heartfelt romance about two people that have been hurt so much in the past that it's made them afraid to love, but neither can they both deign or help feeling the physical chemistry that they have for each other. It's an emotional time for them both on so many levels, giving others opportunity to try and meddle in their relationship.
Carrie Elks has written another wonderful romance that can only be a credit to this already well established series and I just can't help wanting to be swept away there to live amongst it's characters in the warm California sun.

Bossy Bastard (Cocky Hero Club)Bossy Bastard by J.L. Perry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bossy Bastard is Ashton and Emma's story set in the Cocky Hero Club world. I myself have never read any of the original books from this series but I have read many stories by J.L. Perry. Firstly this story even though it is a contemporary romance it does cover subjects like eating disorders, attempted suicide and loss which could be a trigger warning to some readers, otherwise it's a fairly standard romance of boy meets girl, boy irritates girl, girl falls for boy until he does something stupid and then needs to redeem himself. The story does have some very funny moments that had me laughing so hard but it also had a few that had me totally in tears. I really liked the characters and the connection between them was very believable, following on with that the story had such a great plot line it made it such an easy book for me to read. Some great writing from this author and I will be sure to checkout more books from this series.

Blood of the Dragon (Relic Hunters)Blood of the Dragon by Martin Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood of the Dragon is the fourth book of the Relic Hunters series. While it's title presented me with the belief that i'd be reading about mythical dragons in an action adventure story, once you delve deep between the pages of this book you get an unexpected eureka moment and suddenly all is revealed, and with no spoilers from me I will leave you to discover what that is all on your own. What I will tell you is that this is my favourite story from the whole series as it shows just how far the characters have grown both in maturity and in development of their own unique personalities, how well they work together to overcome anything that gets thrown at them and to never give up when things get tough. I must also throw in there that I am a huge fan of the subject matter that this whole book is based upon, of it's myths and legends and of the dark forces that they face.
Martin Ferguson writes superb Y/A books with a knack for believable action and adventure stories worthy of any you would find on the big screen. I devoured this book in no time as it was such a fantastic read, I will be looking forward to see what other challenges get thrown at Adam and the team at the British Museum in the next book of this amazing series!
