A standalone paranormal romance from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Young, writing as S. Young.
Fionn Mór was once a high king of Ireland; a fierce warrior who led his tribes against the invading fae. It was a war he couldn’t win and to save his family he turned consort for the Fae Queen. Fionn escaped as the thing he once despised, and the people he loved betrayed him for it. Now, centuries later, it’s time to reopen the gates to Faerie to take his revenge against the Faerie Queen.
At sixteen Rose Kelly discovered family secrets that changed her forever. Years after, she’s still lost, traveling across Europe in search of that elusive missing ‘something’. When she’s attacked by a vampire, not only is she wrenched into a supernatural underworld she never knew existed, a knock on the head releases a spell on her mind and unlocks powers beyond her wildest imaginings. And with them more questions. Questions Fionn Mór claims to have answers to.
Following the powerful and enigmatic Fionn to Ireland, Rose quickly realizes she’s a pawn in his plan for vengeance. What begins as a passionate battle of wills leads to an inexplicable but undeniable connection. One that will force them to face an impossible choice between the deepest love… and the darkest revenge.

Kiss of Vengeance follows on from War of Hearts, it was my first paranormal story to have read by this author, and after loving Conall and Thea's story so much I was hoping that this story would be just as outstanding as the first, it hurts me to say that this was not the case, don't get me wrong I did enjoy this story but it did lack some of the fiery build up between its two main characters and it was a little slow at the start. I found that the story dragged in a few places but if you just push on through those parts you do still have a book with a good plot and a nice romance, even though it was on the backburner for a little too long, but hey that's just my opinion.
Fionn was a stubborn character for most of the book and his mission of revenge did start to grate on my nerves a little and as for Rose I felt that she was a little too needy of him and gave in to him far to fast, even trusting him right for the start. As a romantic couple they did have a very good fit but I was waiting for a little more passion and fire from them earlier in the story and when it did come it wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for.
The story was a great idea I just dont think it was executed as well as it could have been and so I felt it was lacking in the suspense and drama that we got from War of Hearts and as that story totally blew me away I was a little disappointed that this one just didn't give me the same feeling of having read an amazing book. I will still keep reading this series as I do want to know what happens next for the character that are a part of this paranormal world.
