MY 5 STAR REVIEW

I have been a fan of Jodi's books since I first read the This Man trilogy and since this book was first announced the waiting to read it has been absolute torture!!! Well I can tell you that every bit of that pain was worth it as I was so totally blow away by the brilliance of this story.
It is written in true Jodi style with so many beautiful descriptions and full of in-depth emotional scenes between the characters but it's also unlike anything she has ever written before and should be read as if you have never had the experience of reading any of her work.
I instantly connected emotionally with Jake Sharp from the very first page, his character is in a very dark place at the start of the book, he is full of self loathing because of using drink and sleeping with random women to help him cope with a trauma that happened to him in his past, but you can't help yourself from getting drawn into his world as the story plays out and you have a compelling need and want to help him find the light and his redemption.
Camille Logan is that redemption for Jake and as much as I was cheerleading her on to make that happen for him I felt total jealousy towards her (what woman wouldn't) even though her character is one that I really liked. She is a woman who is portrayed wrongly by the media as a spoilt brat and her fight for freedom and independence from her overbearing father is what makes you warm to her and the fact that even though she is in danger throughout the story she doesn't become a wilting flower and die. I love a feisty female lead character and Camille was everything you would want a heroine of a modern day love story to be.
The chemistry that Jake and Camille have is very intense and the sex scenes are so well written that you can feel your body tingle as your reading, you can feel the very deep and powerful love between them, it's not like reading erotica it's more pure and beautiful than that it touches your soul.
This story was heartstopping and emotionally charged throughout that even though it started at a steady pace it built up to an explosive crescendo with secrets and lies thrown into the mix to bring us to an ending that brought me to tears but I can't say of what kind without spoiling it. I loved this book and feel very privileged to have been given the chance to be an advance reader of such an amazing story.
Congrats to Jodi on another fantastic book.
