Im not usually a fan of new adult stories and i'd never read anything by Kirsty Moseley before so when I won an arc copy I didn't really know what I was to expect between the pages but WOW I was totally blown away by this incredible book.
This talented author has a magical way of writing so that it draws you into the story by giving you all the feels and emotions that the characters are going through until you can't stop or won't stop reading until you get to the end of the book! She kept me on the edge of my seat and had me shouting out loud at the characters when you just knew that they shouldn't be doing something but still do it no matter how much or hard you plead with them not to.
Jamie Cole had me hooked from the very first page, he is a character that has all the traits of a bad boy that you should all lock up your daughters from but you just know that lying beneath the surface he hides a different side that very few people get to know or see. He's a hardworking caring man that just can't seem to get a break no matter how hard he tries to keep on the straight and narrow path. He totally pulled at my heart strings so many times as I was reading and it made me want to weep for all the horror and evil he has endured in his young life.
Ellie is a young girl from a well to do family who has just broken up with Miles her controlling ex-boyfriend when she meets Jamie and has a one nightstand that keeps her going back for more. Her character is a little naive and she lives in her own perfect little bubble as she can't see what is in plain sight right in front of her most of the time which is maybe to do with her age but I liked her character as she is feisty and knows her own mind even if wrong sometimes but she is also for the most part oblivious to the life Jamie has lived through even though he carries the scars and is stupid enough to listen to lies and think that he is capable of murdering the one person he has ever loved.
They have great chemistry between them but their love is never going to be easy as so much is set against them from being together and especially now with how the book ended.
I absolutely cant wait for the next book in this series to be released as this is one of my favorite books i've read this year, and I will be sure to check out more books from this amazing author.
