4 STAR REVIEW
I delved into this book not really knowing what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The story was very well written for a first time solo novel the writing flowed effortlessly and it kept me interested as the story progressed.

Xander is a very likable character but he is also man who carries hidden secrets that cause him to drink and use drugs to help him cope with all the tragedy and trauma he has lived through, deep down you know he is a good man and you can't help but sympathise with him and the situation that he eventually finds himself in.

Paige's character was a little harder to connect to as I found that she is supposed to be a headstrong independent woman but then we are told that she had stuck with her ex boyfriend long after he beat her and almost killed her, she then didn't believe in Xander after all he had done to help and protect her and her family which made me angry with her to the point of hate and I found it all little hard to swallow.

I thought that the end was a little rushed and would have liked it to have been a little more less easy for the truth be have been discovered but on the whole I did still enjoy reading this book and that is why I have drop one star to give this 4 stars.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next in the second book of this series.
